OUR ROBOT

 

After the shopping craze of Double 11 (November 11), a new member joined my family. He has a round blue body like a cake box, with a flashlight on him. He is a sweeping robot. Sometimes when I get home from school in the evening and hear the buzz, I know it must be him that is working on the floor. Then I will see mum seated leisurely in the sofa snacking and watching TV.

 

The first day the robot joined us, when I came home, I greeted mum. After we exchanged greetings, mum said to the robot, “Go and clean the little princess’s room.” My mum’s instructions sent the robot going to my room sweeping. It left me standing at the door, mouth agape. “How smart it is!” I exclaimed. Then mother explained that not only can the robot be voice controlled, but also it can function as a toy car remote controlled. I had such a toy as a child.

 

My robot makes our life easier and more convenient. It makes me wonder if tech is developing too fast. Will humans become smarter or more stupid as a result?
