THEY MUST BE YOUR PARENTS

One Saturday afternoon, I was annoyed. I had come into conflict with my mother. I did not want to carry so much stuff to school, such as tons of snacks and an umbrella. My mother insisted I carry all the things she had prepared. When our argument came to nothing, I burst out of the door.

When I was going down the stairs, remorse came upon my heart. However, my ‘face’ prevented me from going back to apologise to Mum. Now I know how foolishly I had behaved. Mother was just expressing her love in her own way. I simply ignored it.

By the time I was in the yard, I could not help turning my eyes to our flat. Mother was at the window, looking in my direction. The way she was standing there, she looked like a statue. So moved was I that I turned around and walked on lest she should see the tears trickling down my cheeks.

If there are some people in the world who love you unconditionally and would not love you any less even when you hurt them, they must be your parents.
