DOGS IN MY NEIGHBOURHOOD

There are many stray dogs in my neighbourhood. Most of them scavenge for leftovers in the trash bins. There is a dog raised by an old couple. The dog is able to move freely because the couple live in a bungalow. On my way to and from school, I smile at it and it wags its tail merrily in response.

It is a she-dog. One day in my last year of junior high school, it gave birth to two puppies. The young creatures were so cute that I could not take my eyes off them. One day there came a little girl to our community. She was probably a primary school student. Every day the girl came and played with the two puppies for at least a quarter. What was more, she brought meat and snacks from time to time when she dropped by.

One summer afternoon, the girl poured some milk onto her palm for the puppies to eat. When the two creatures were lapping the treat off her palm, satisfaction and happiness were all over her face.

What a vivid scene! It seems that the clear sky, the fresh air, the lush wood as well as the girl and the puppies are the treasures that Mother Nature endows us with. The truth is that we humans and animals have been part of nature for ages and ages whether you admit it or not.
