In our class there are quite a few homework machines, of whom Ruizhi is a classic example.

Plain-looking as she is, Ruizhi is a master as far as homework is concerned. She loves nothing better than it. As soon as a piece of homework is assigned, she will start ‘eating it’. In her own words, her only relaxation in school is doing homework.  She spends every waking moment on homework. Even when the teacher is lecturing, her mind is on it. Without homework Ruizhi could not possibly exist in the physical world.

What beats us all is that Ruizhi has an extraordinary way of handling her homework. She never does the day’s work. The day’s work was done a few days ago. What she is doing at the very moment was scheduled by the teacher for the morrow or the next week. Whenever a short weekend break comes, Ruiz is upset because our dear English teacher Shengliver rarely gives any homework, which understandably deprives Ruizhi of her sole worldly pleasure.

So Shengliver, why not give Ruizhi some extra homework for the weekend so that she could enjoy herself by cracking the academic puzzles?
