TECH IS NOT EVERYTHING

I am still a teenager, yet I have witnessed the leaps and bounds in tech development. Before I was five years old, people everywhere used push-button mobile phones. Now, all mobile phones have shed the ugly physical buttons. What’s more the gadget seems to be getting smarter all the time. Now we can do shopping on the small device. We could even pick a course and learn on the phone too.

Personally, I do not think all the tech changes are for the better. Why? Because friends can chat on Wechat and QQ so easily, face-to-face communication suffers. And information spreads too fast. As soon as my grades are out after an exam, my parents get them on their phones. Some guys seem to have been hooked on their phone. They could not survive should they lose their smart device. It is predicted that people will not have to go out to work and that children can go to school on the computer. I don’t think it should be like that. After all, we go to school not only to learn from books but also to meet people and develop social skills.

The purpose of tech is to make us happier, isn’t it? I think going shopping in a brick-and-mortar store is a much more enjoyable experience than shopping online. Talking face to face makes me happier than using WeChat or QQ.

I wish tech development could slow down a bit. That way, we would take time to enjoy life more.
