Post-Exam Actors

We’re going through the last two terms of high school. It means that we have to sit one exam after another. There seems to be no end of it. To be honest, it is a rather boring lifestyle.

There is a common phenomenon after an exam in my class. A lot of students, who know they sailed through the test, pretend they did a bad job in it. What is their motivation for the cunning show? I have not got a clue.

In the beginning, some innocent guys could not tell whether those fakers were telling the truth or not. I was one of the innocent eggs.

After an exam, you would hear someone say, “Oh blast! It was too hard. I’ve botched it.” Hearing that, out of empathy, I often tried to comfort and cheer up those who said they had performed badly in the past exam.

After the results were out, I was shocked, feeling betrayed. It was absurd that a person who had done really badly comforted someone who had done way better.

As we are turning from teenagers into adults, we are often forced to grow and mature by the circumstances. As our wisdom increases, we will master the skill of telling truths from lies. Only if someone is honest with us will we trust them.
